Corporate Relations Committee (chair Eemeli Vähäpassi @ofDust)
The most important task of the corporate relations committee is to handle the communication between Tietokilta and its partner corporations. Working in the committee enables you to grow your network with leading companies in the field, as well as provides valuable experience in business cooperation. In addition to communication, the committee also performs other varying tasks, such as organizing excursions, selling sponsorship packages, preparing a recruitment magazine and maintaining the guilds recruitment platform, as well as building the guild’s largest recruitment event UraTiKAS. You can ask more about the committee and its tasks from the head of corporate relations!

Study Committee (chair Mikael Siidorow @mikaelsiidorow)
The main responsibility of the Study Committee is to represent the interests of students towards the University and to provide information on study matters to the students. The activities can be roughly divided into three parts.
Firstly, under the leadership of the master of academic affairs, the study committee influences the university’s decision-making process in cooperation with Ayy and study committees from other guilds. In the study committee, you can participate as a halloped and also as a regular committee member. Halloped’s represent students at meetings of the university’s administrative organs. Other members may also participate in some advocacy activities, such as the Bachelor curriculum development workshop.
Secondly, the study committee organizes, with funding from the university, the Bachelor’s pulla servings for graduating students and, as a larger event, the exchange sauna for those interested in exchange studies.
The third role is day-to-day lobbying and information dissemination to students, for example by solving problems in courses, maintaining tenttiarkisto (exam archive) and varjo-opinto-opas. In addition to these, the Study Committee is responsible for conducting study surveys to get a broader picture of students’ views.

International Committee (chairs Daniel Kaluski @kaluSCI & Matti Kokkonen @Masakilleri)
The international committee is responsible to reach out to all guild members coming to Finland from other countries. Usually this means in practice to make information from the guild available and participation in events possible in English. The expectations of an international student on their studies at Aalto typically differ from the ones of a Finn. For example, exchange students might want to have a lot of cultural experience during their stay. Supporting the international students in their special interests and needs is an additional goal of the committee.
The international tutor recruitment will open later.

Internal Committee (chairs Antti-Jussi Ikonen @ikonenaj & Visa Aaltonen @visasammu)
The Internal Committee, or sisis, organizes Computer Science Guild’s sitsis, afterparties, and afterafterparties and takes care of the food and drink side of the events. The committee is led by the Host and Hostess, who are assisted by the members of the internal committee. As a member of the committee, you get to plan the guild’s events, participate in the arrangements, see behind the curtain and above all, get to know the teekkari culture perhaps even more deeply than just sitting at the sitsi-table! Committee’s work is not just carrying beer cases and serving food, but also planning and delegating. Cooking skills don’t hurt though; they are useful! Remember: the best parties are in the kitchen!

External Affairs Committee (chair Samu Chef P. @chefz)
Tietokilta’s committee of external affairs offers the guild fun excursions inside Finland and abroad. The committee also takes care of the guild’s external affairs with other guilds in different forms, such as by participating in TiTeenit and having sitsis with them. The style for doing this is free, come and join us with the planning and executing.

Aluminumcommittee (chair Visa Pollari @teekkarit)
The aluminum committee is responsible for the guild’s alumni relations and events. In addition to this, this year the committee aims to renew and update the guild’s alumni contacts for the 2020s, and a few helping hands are needed for this.
If you are interested in hunting for alumni contact information, you know how to write polite e-mails, and making phone calls does not cause bottomless anxiety, and you are interested in meeting up with alumni for coffee or lunch, you belong here.
The committee is also responsible for traditional events, such as Alumni glögi
Express your interest directly to the aluminum uncle in Telegram: @teekkarit
Culture Committee (chair Anna He @annadude)
Culture committee, as the name of the committee suggests, arranges all sorts of culture related activities. Since culture is a broad concept, the committee can accommodate a wide variety of event concepts.
As a committee official you get to ideate and organize different activities, whether it’s visiting RWBK concert or a drag queen gig, coffee tasting, organizing UFO sightings or anything in between!
No previous experience is necessary, motivation is the most important thing! The cultural committee chair’s most important task is to support other committee members in organizing activities. So come along!

Digi Committee (chair Kalle Ahlström @kqlski)
The Digi committee of Tietokilta is looking for guild members interested in developing Tietokilta’s IT infrastructure. The committee is also a great way to get practical experience with software development projects. The main goal for the coming year is to improve the (soon™) new website project and “jack” (hack together) a member register for the guild. We also aim to develop and maintain the guild’s other digital services, and even create some new ones. We’re looking for at least these skills, but interest in any of these topics is enough to join:
Software development: Most of our projects are some kind of web development. We currently intend to use TypeScript, Node.js, Strapi, React and Gatsby, but there’s still room for changes if we find active contributors for something else. In any case, we aim to use widely used technologies, so that we can also find contributors in the future. We’re looking for both experienced and fledgling talent – all help is welcome!
Architecture design, cloud and DevOps: We aim to move most, if not all, of Tietokilta’s IT infrastructure to the cloud, so cloud skills would be useful to the committee. In addition, experience with containers (such as Docker) and infrastructure as code (such as Terraform) is a plus.
Design (UI/UX): We’d also like to have some visually oriented people in the committee, with the ability to design functional and good-looking user interfaces.

Gaming Committee (chair Eero Eklund @Mulkeero)
The Gaming Committee organizes all sorts of gaming-related events and maintains the guild’s collection of video and board games. Committee members are responsible for i.a. regular board game nights, MTG events and the traditional biannual TiKLANs and Smash tournaments. This year, we’ll also try reviving the guild’s Discord server. By joining, you get to directly influence the guild’s gaming culture and what games are available at the guild room.
If you have even the smallest spark of an idea of some new gaming event you’d like to arrange, joining the committee is a sure-fire way to actualize it. On the other hand, a sufficient reason to join would be hoping to add a specific game to the guild’s collection. :D You really shouldn’t stress about the workload, and just focusing on parts of the committee that truly interest you is totally ok.
If you have any questions, please do ask on TG @Mulkeero!

Grandma Committee (chair Suvi Zitting @suvi_z)
The Grandmas’ most important mission is to bring everyone together by organizing cozy and relaxed events for the members of our guild - and that’s where we need you!
The grandma club has developed and expanded since its founding and nowadays it’s mostly known for baking, cooking and sewing events as well as for trying out new concepts - for example the grandma-sitsit and a trip to the fluffy alpaca farm are starting to become traditions!
As a committee member you get to organize and plan amazing events and the amount of work largely depends on your eagerness and motivation, so no pressure! You also don’t need any special cooking or other skills - only interest and desire to help is enough :) Welcome!

Guild Magazine Committee, Rytmiryhmä (editor-in-chief Mikko Juusti @Mikmokki)
Come along to deliver our guild magazine, which is published (ir)regularly. In editing, you can have a strong influence on the magazine’s content and you can produce all kinds of printed content to the guild’s delight. If you have the passion for good stories, are a graphic genius, or have a master’s degree in jokes and memes, then go try your journalistic wings by editing our guild magazine. If you did not meet any of these criteria, you are definitely the right person to join the Rytmiryhmä! Just put an application coming and get your name in the magazine!

Guild Merchandise Committee (chair Filip Eller @FilipEller)
The Guild Merchandise Committee is Tietokilta’s newest committee and its responsibilities include inventing, designing and selling guild merchandise like clothes and overall badges. It is also the committee’s task to find out what kind of products the members of the guild want. The committee can design products by itself, but organizing a product design competition could also be tested. In such a competition the members of the guild would get to propose ideas and sketches for new products. The committee’s tasks will surely evolve over the year as its role in the guild becomes more established. This year’s goal is to bring forth multiple products that the members of the guild has previously been missing.
Joining the committee does not require special skills or previous experience, instead you get to learn and try out new things. Crazy ideas are appreciated! Feel free to message @FilipEller on Telegram if you have any questions about the Committee.

Guild Room Committee (chair Ronja Stimpert @wilde_13_Ronja)
The tasks of the guild room committee include the maintenance and development of the guild room. As a member of the committee you get to work together for a guild room in which all the guild members enjoy themselves. The committee takes care of new items and extraordinary cleaning in the guild room. The guild room committee is a perfect committee for everyone, and it doesn’t require much. Participants are involved in planning and as well in the execution of the planning.

N Committee (chairs Niilo Lappi @TheNipanen & Ilari Sorvali @tiikeri)
The N Committee (Nth year committee) organizes events for N-minded people, regardless of when they started their studies. The N-Committee aims to get older guild members excited about guild events with for example the N-point card.
In practice this involves conceptualizing and organizing events. Examples of N-Committee’s events include Nth year sitsis, the N headstart and the summer’s afterwork season. This year the committee will try to improve N-activities accross guild borders especially with other SCI’s N representatives and committees!
NOTE! Applications close on 24.1!

Publicist’s Committee (chair Elsa Schumacher @elsaschu)
The Publicist’s committee is in charge of Tietokilta’s communications through weekly mails, Telegram announcements and social media. Possible roles in the committee include a social media content creator and photographer. Content creators keep the guild’s social media channels up to date (mostly Instagram and TikTok) and photographers take pictures at events. The roles are not set in stone and you can also come up with your own. So, if you want to be involved in the guild’s communications, Publicist’s Committee is the right place for you!

Songmaster Committee (chair Nelly Kytölä @nelkyt)
Being a songmaster is the best opportunity to affect the guild’s song culture, since the songmasters mainly choose what to sing at sitsit and at other occasions. Next year I intend to also organize other song culture related events if there is demand for them.
Typically songmasters have been in charge of making the songbook and songleading. However, next year I would like for the songmasters to take charge of more of the entire program of the sitsit (this would of course be decided with the organizers as well). I think that songmasters should also take a more active role in teaching fuksis (or anyone really) to sing and to write new songs for example at lalasaunas.
The only criteria for new members is the genuine interest in songculture. Everything else can be learned throughout the year.

Sports Committee (chair Arto Paasiviita @artopv)
Do you like sports or want to be a part of arranging sports events for the guild? Then apply to the sports Committee!
Sports committee is responsible for organizing sporting activities and events for the guild. Events organized by the committee can be almost anything related to sports. As a member of the committee, you can influence the guild’s sports activities and share the joy of sports with the whole guild through the ideation and organization of events.
Working in the Sports Committee doesn’t take a lot of time, and due to that it is a great window to get into Guild activity for you who like sports, but don’t have much time for extra work. No sports background is needed - interest is most important!

Student Marketing Committee (chair Emilia Repo @emialis)
The student marketing committee is responsible for marketing computer science as a field of study for high schoolers, especially last year students (“abi”). Previously the members of the committee have for example visited their own old high schools as well as other high schools and told about their experiences studying CS at Aalto. The committee has also organized events aimed at abis, for example Abipäivät which included a campus tour and a sitsit.
The plan for next year is to keep organizing high school visits and to organize a new Abipäivä so that new applicants can get a better grasp of what studying at Aalto is like.Additionally we are going to create a new abi info section on the guild’s website this year, and it would include for example interviews of committee members.
Anyone interested in abi marketing (or anything mentioned above) is welcome to join the committee!
Apply to the Abi Marketing Committee: https://forms.gle/xYorNwurkaG3HK5bA
Van Committee (chair Leo Immonen @leoimmonen)
The van committee is a completely new committee in Tietokilta. In the fall, the guild meeting decided to acquire its own van for the guild, and this year’s committee’s task is to prepare and execute the purchase, and after that organize loan activities for guild members. In the van committee, you can take part in the acquisition, kick some tires and organize a completely new service for guild members.
An interest in and knowledge of vehicles is an advantage, but this year the committee has also activities outside the subject area, including planning the reservation system and practical arrangements.
