Is the new semester already weighing down on you? Do you yearn for the stress-free summer days? Don’t worry, because the Grandma Club is there to cheer you up once again with the fluffy Alpaca excursion!

So come and join us for a relaxing Sunday excursion on the Ali-Olli’s Alpaca Farm on the 21st of September, the whole farm is reserved just for us! During the trip you will have the chance to feed, pet, walk and even go to an agility course with the Alpacas! The farm also has some other animals, like donkeys, rabbits, guinea-pigs and degus that you can pet.

After the main program there will be a barbecue, and an opportunity to buy alpaca themed souvenirs from the farm’s shop. Cake and coffee are also available for an extra 5€ fee during sign-up. Bring your own food for the barbecue!

The bus leaves from in front of Undergraduate Centre (between Otakaari 1 and 2) - be there at 15:00! We will be back at Otaniemi around 19:30. The excursion will cost max 16€, and the sign up is binding after it closes!

What? Are there really going to be more than one of these per year? Of course—everything is true! The second Updates on Academic Affairs of the year is here!

By reading this update, you’ll get a good overview of current study-related topics at the CS department, the SCI school, and Aalto University level. The Head of Academic Affairs acts as a student representative in SCI’s administrative bodies, and the goal is to increase transparency of these meetings by sharing the discussion topics and decisions.

This time, the topics include:
• changes to CS courses for the 2025–26 academic year
• new autumn courses – theme: AI
• results from the spring EXAM maturity demonstration pilot
• cross-institutional study network (RIPA), preparations for a Secure Software agreement
• Aalto’s new rules of conduct
• changes to the Dean’s incentive scholarship
• updated course feedback survey

Aalto University Junior is offering a fixed-term, part-time position working on the implementation of an online learning platform. The content for the platform is already prepared – now we are looking for someone who can visualize and program the material into a digital platform. The employee must be a student at Aalto University.

What will you get to do?

• Build an online learning platform for use in primary and secondary education
• Visualize and gamify the platform in a user-friendly way
• Program the platform’s functionalities and ensure its technical performance

Who is this position suitable for?

• You, who have experience in developing web applications
• You, who wants to create an online learning platform
• You, who want to contribute to promoting financial literacy among young people 

Duration and scope of the work

• The position is fixed-term and part-time
• Weekly working hours are negotiable, approximately 40% of a full-time week
• The estimated total workload is 65 hours

• The platform should be ready for testing by December
