Many guild members have been yearning ⛏ to show their creativity and make some games 🕹. The one and only TiK Game Jam is here! 🫨🫨🫨

The TiK Game Jam is held at the guild room on the weekend 18.10.-20.10. 🕐 The Jamming starts with the announcement of the theme 🫣 and the optional formation of the teams 🤝 at 16:00. The finalized games will be presented at the demo gala on Sunday 16:00! 💅💅💅

Participation does not require any prerequisite skills and teams will need many different kinds of skills! You can come if you already know or just want to learn something about some part of game development. For example:

The team sizes are anywhere from 1 to n participants ♾. In the signup you can enter a team name, if you already have one or you can look for a team at the start of the event.👉👈🥹

Hey student!

Have you been wondering what consulting actually means? Wonder no more! Columbia Road invites you to an excursion where we debunk consulting myths and give you a glimpse into the everyday life of a tech consultant. During the evening, you'll also hear more about our Associate Program jobs and get to enjoy some light food and refreshments. There will be plenty of time to relax and get to know CR and other students after the program, so mark your calendars for this event 🗓

If we haven't met yet, here's a few facts about us!

⭐️ Our goal is to help our clients sell better in digital channels. Our tools for doing this include software development, marketing technology, data and design.

⭐️ We are already close to 150 Roadies and work in Helsinki, Tampere and Stockholm and our official language is English.

⭐️ Every year, we welcome students or recent graduates to kickstart their career at CR and most of them are permanently employed by us after the Associate Program.

Unisport University Leagues are back and guilds sport team AthleTiKs is ready to play 🗣️

In Unisport league games we play against other guild sport teams from Helsinki metropolitan area. Games are open for all guild members no matter their skill level, and they are all about having fun and being active 🤝 It’s also free to participate!

The season starts already next week with football ⚽️ Games are played at Töölön pallokenttä 6 on mondays, tuesdays and thursdays between 12-16.00

Patch sewing

The new overalls are finally here, so it is time to sew some overall patches to them! 🧵

Take your shiny new overalls, a pile of patches and head to Ossinkulma on Wednesday the 2nd to enjoy a chill evening with good company! ✨

The Grandmas will be there to help with the sewing, so no worries if your sewing skills are a bit rusty! There will also be small snacks and some sewing equipment to borrow, but please bring your own equipment if you can! 🍿🥤

The event is targeted at fuksis, but all guild members are welcome! In case the space fills up too much, we will prioritize fuksis.

You can join and leave at your own pace, no signup needed!

Election Kickoff 7.10. ✨🗳

Is your mouho tooth bothering you? Do you crave more information about the upcoming elections? Have you thought about whether you should continue doing guild activities for one more year or perhaps should the next year be your first?

If you answered yes to any of the above, it's worth showing up at Gorsu on 7.10. starting at 18! ✨ The current board will present a brief overview of the upcoming election process, followed by open discussion with the current actives of the guild. 🗣 Additionally, there will be a sauna at the event 🧖‍♂️ and some light snacks 😋!

You may start your election campaign at the event and announce which roles you intend to apply for, or ask your predecessors for more information when thinking about your plans!

Tempaus Head Start 18.10. - Let's break the attendance record at Bolt Arena!

The Tempaus Week Head start event will be held on October 18th, when the HJK women's team has invited us to come in large numbers to cheer them on and break the current attendance record (1833, from 2020), as well as to learn about volunteering opportunities in sports! This event is also open to alumni and those who haven’t registered for Tempaus Week, so let's go break the record together!

Please register for the event via the kide.app by October 11th, and arrive at 17:15 near Bolt Arena, where you will receive your free match ticket! Note that tickets are reserved according to the numbers on kide.app. Please be prepared to show your kide.app purchase when picking up your ticket.

We are also looking for 12 enthusiastic Tempaus Week participants for a penalty shootout competition during the intermission (1 goalkeeper + 5 shooters). Mention your interest when reserving your ticket!

Tempaus Blood Donation Campaign - Open until Nov 15 
Participate in Tempaus by donating blood. This campaign is also open to alumni and students who haven't signed up for Tempaus Week, so let's all participate together!

1. Donate blood at any Blood Service location during the campaign. During Tempaus Week, there will also be an opportunity to donate blood in Otaniemi, provided you are not a first-time donor. Remember to take your ID with you!
2. Mention at the beginning of the health interview that you want to participate in the Tempaus campaign.
3. If you have signed up for Tempaus: You will get a card and/​or a proof to your Blood donating app that you have participated. By showing the proof to Tempaus committee during Tempaus Week, you will get your Tempaaja overall badge.
4. Blood Service will cover taxi costs if 4 people share the same ride. More information can be found on the Blood Service website.
5. The blood donation campaign will continue and will end on the 15th of November. On the same day, there is a blood donation point at Dipoli, Otakaari 24, Espoo.

152. Teekkari tradition ball is coming 8.-9.11.2024 and you’re invited 

The artistic 152. Teekkari tradition ball will take place on Friday 8.11.2024. from 19:00 at Kulttuurikasarmi. The cocktail event will be held before the main ball, but the time and place for it will be announced later. The gift-giving ceremony will be held during the cocktail event. The charming Teekkarisillis will take place in Otaniemi the very next day 9.11. The price of the dinner card is 95€ for students and 152€ for alumni. A ticket for the Teekkarisillis costs 25€ and can be purchased together with the dinner card. 

Sign-up for the Teekkari tradition ball and for the Teekkarisillis opens 9.10. at 12:00 in kide.app and closes 23.10. at 12:00. To secure your spot at the most iconic ball of the year, make sure to register early

POKA's Autumn Pike Fishing Trip in the Turku Archipelago

Join us for pike fishing in the autumnal archipelago! The traditional autumn pike fishing trip of the Polytechnics' Fishing Club will take place in the Turku archipelago, specifically in Velkua. Autumn pike are hungry, and larger specimens are often found near spawning bays, making this an excellent opportunity to catch them. You don't need to be an experienced fisherman to join – as long as you're enthusiastic about spending a day on a boat and possibly an evening in the sauna. Loan equipment is also available if needed. Accommodation will be in cabins, and the trip's cost is around €130, depending slightly on the number of participants.

The exact dates are Wednesday-Sunday, October 30th - November 3rd, but you can also attend only part of the trip. Sign up at bit.ly/​POKAS24, and you can send any questions to pokah​@list.ayy.fi or via Telegram to ​@OskariH.

Have you ever wanted to see how emotions are represented in your brain? We are a scientific group working at Aalto University, interested in better understanding the emotional component of social interactions. We are looking for Finns willing to participate in a neuroscience study that involves recording and analyzing social encounters within a virtual environment.

As part of the study,  we will measure brain activity while participants experience various emotions, and you will be able to see how emotions are expressed in your brain. Moreover, you will receive a 30€ gift card for Espresso House coffee shop.
