Laskiainen (Shrovetide) is just around the corner, therefore it’s time to enjoy the traditional shrovetide buns! So come join us at the village living room (JMT 5A) on Monday the 10th of March to bake with friends and other guild members. There will also be games from the gaming committee available to play while waiting for the buns to rise.

PS: If possible, please bring your own bowl and a small piece of cloth for baking and rising of the buns! Also bring a container in case you want to take some buns home!

The entrance to the parking garage for cars is located on Itämerenkatu. The door opens with a motion sensor as the car approaches. From the parking garage, you can take the elevator to the 1st floor to Deloitte’s reception. Please remember to register your license plate at our reception.

Tietokilta's culture committee is organizing a joint leave to the Polytech Choir's 125th anniversary opening concert. Once again, the program is packed with bangers! The guild is offering a group ticket, with the guild providing support for the ticket price! The maximum cost for participants will be 8€! The final price will depend on the number of participants.

The Polytech Choir (PK) is celebrating its 125th anniversary and will open its jubilee year at Ritarihuone on March 13, 2025, with a performance of its legendary repertoire in many forms. The evening, focused on Finnish productions, will feature a selection of choir members' favorites and requests, national romantic hits, serenades, and other lighter pieces. The concert will also feature a guest solo performance by PK's vocal coach, Niilo Erkkilä. PK and its singers have always been versatile, and this evening's concert will be a tribute to that.

In the spring, AYY will award scholarships to active community actors, those interested in international affairs, and those who balance studies and student life in an exemplary manner. The scholarships are aimed at students who work for the community and encourage others to participate and make an impact!

Let the folk come out in great numbers to navigate through Otaniemi's diverse song culture at Lukkariseminaari on Thursday 13.3.! In this unique sitsit, we will walk through guild, association and nation singing traditions from the safety of our seat at the sitsit table.

The trek will begin with a song-culturally educational cocktail hour downstairs in OK20 at 17.30, followed by the starting shot for the song orienteering upstairs at 18.30. Registration opens on Kide.app on Thursday 27.2. at 12.00 and closes on Monday 10.3. at 23.59. The sitsit is limited to the first 50 persons.

Crisis Support for Students at Aalto

- Aalto chaplains offer discussion support and are available to the Aalto community regardless of religion or worldview.
- Starting Point of Wellbeing provides guidance and advice if a student is unsure where to find help or support. No appointment is needed, and students can be referred to the service with a low threshold.
- Aalto’s student psychologists offer crisis support to student communities (such as group debriefings) and individual discussions as needed.
- YTHS (Finnish Student Health Service) also provides support for students.

Other Crisis Support Services

- MIELI Mental Health Finland’s Crisis Center offers face-to-face support and peer support groups.
- HelsinkiMissio’s Youth Crisis Point provides free and confidential discussion support for people under 30.

Students attending a traditional university or a university of applied sciences must pay a healthcare fee to Kela. The fee must be paid for each term. Kela does not send a bill for the fee, so students must make sure to pay it on their own initiative. In 2025, the student healthcare fee in higher education is EUR 35.60 per term. Read more here.
