Have you thought about exchanging patches with other CS students at the Battle of the Titans? Do you just want to chill with other guild members while sewing patches and enjoying snacks? The Grandma Club is organizing another patch sewing night at the village living room on the 18th of March!

The Grandmas will be there to help with the sewing, so no worries if your sewing skills are a bit rusty! There will also be small snacks and some sewing equipment to borrow, but please bring your own equipment if you can!

You can join and leave at your own pace, no signup needed!

Warm welcome to excursion at the HiQ’s headquarters in Otaniemi! Sievo invites Tietokilta students to the Sievo office in downtown Helsinki on Thursday 20.3. at 17:00 for one of the most exciting excursions of the year! We have a fun evening planned with some activities for you to explore Sievo, meet new people, and mingle with Sievonians, all without those awkward silences you might find at networking events :)

Not familiar with what Sievo actually does? A quick recap: We are a fast-growing product company headquartered in Helsinki. We are the global leaders in the procurement analytics software industry and specialize in building data-driven products in-house. We go by the "you build, you run" culture which means that our product team designs, implements, deploys, and monitors their own services. This allows the team to also choose the right tools to fit their needs.

The world's best Espoo-based student fire brigade orchestra playing Newer French Fire Music, Retuperä WBK, will hold its biennial grand concert at the Töölönlahti Fire Brigade Hall for the first time in four years on March 21, 2025, at 19:00.

Tietokilta’s cultural committee is organizing a group order for this spectacle! The guild is subsidizing the ticket price in the group order below! Students only pay 13€! Better reserve your spot quickly! You don't want to miss this cultural experience!

Retuperä’s chemically enhanced brass septet will once again emerge from among the deep ranks of the people onto the stage of the renowned Finlandia Hall for a two-and-a-half-hour show. The performance will be led by the orchestra’s own artistic misdirector Minna-Aria Häsling. The concert will feature retouched classical music gems, both timeless and brand-new, arranged by the nation’s Grand Arranger Simeon Suihkutsalo. Alongside Retuperä WBK, the show will feature the fastest shooting stars of the Finnish soloist scene.

Borrowing Guild Equipment

A portion of Tietokilta’s annual budget is allocated to support various member-led projects, events, and acquisitions. If you have an idea that you’d like to bring to life with the guild’s support, read more about the application process on the guild’s website! You can also check out the projects that have been funded in previous years.

We are looking for teaching assistants for various of our autumn courses. Please find the description of the TA tasks and which courses are participating in this joint call. Assistants will receive a compensation depending on the workload included in the task. Deadline for applications is 23 March 2025.

Summer is on its way, and it’s once again time to get back into healthy habits! Kesäkuntoon, loosely translated as 'summer fitness,' is a friendly competition lasting 5 weeks where you can complete small activities to improve your wellbeing—either solo or with a team. As you complete these activities, you'll earn points for your team and your guild. At the end of the campaign, the top participants, teams, and guilds will be rewarded

Wappu is approaching fast, and so is the broadcast season of Otaniemi’s best Wappu radio – Radiodiodi! Gather your friends and secure your spot at the center of Wappu at radiodiodi.fi/​en/​ilmo before Tuesday March 18th.

This Wappu, Radiodiodi will be on air from April 12th until Wappu Eve on frequency 102.0 MHz. You can have a say in its program by becoming a program maker! Our broadcast will be produced in collaboration with the program makers from the container studio located in Otaniemi, Espoo.

The Students' Beer Pong Championships are coming up again! Aalto Beer Pong  presents once again their largest annual tournament on April 5th. The first 64 teams to sign up will compete over the desired title of students’ Beer Pong Champion 2025!

The tournament sign-up opens on 15th of March at 12:00 PM.

The registration is binding.

The tournament costs 10e/​team which includes at least 3 guaranteed games. The price does not include game drinks.

This year the event will take place in Otaniemi at Smökki, Jämeräntaival 4, Espoo. The first games will start at 2PM. Entrance is free so you are also welcome to cheer for your friends and play fun games!

Crisis Support for Students at Aalto

- Aalto chaplains offer discussion support and are available to the Aalto community regardless of religion or worldview.
- Starting Point of Wellbeing provides guidance and advice if a student is unsure where to find help or support. No appointment is needed, and students can be referred to the service with a low threshold.
- Aalto’s student psychologists offer crisis support to student communities (such as group debriefings) and individual discussions as needed.
- YTHS (Finnish Student Health Service) also provides support for students.

Other Crisis Support Services

- MIELI Mental Health Finland’s Crisis Center offers face-to-face support and peer support groups.
- HelsinkiMissio’s Youth Crisis Point provides free and confidential discussion support for people under 30.
