Kompleksi r.y., the psychology students from Helsinki University, are coming on 22.4. to the Grandma club’s patch sewing night at Ossinkulma, so make sure you come too! During the evening you’ll get to chat with new and old friends, enjoy some snacks, and sew patches ()!

Also a reminder about the fuksi’s patch sewing competition! You must enter the compettion by 27.4. at the latest, and you’ll find more info in the fuksi channel!

The Grandmas will be there to help with the sewing, so no worries if your sewing skills are a bit rusty! There will also be small snacks and some sewing equipment to borrow, but please bring your own equipment if you can!

You can join and leave at your own pace, no signup needed!

AATU Appro is coming again this May!

The Academic Aurajoki Riverboat Captain’s Degree (AATU among friends) returns once more! AATU is a nationwide student event held annually in May, bringing students from all corners of Finland to the city of Turku to enjoy refreshments in the historic riverside setting of the Aurajoki River, celebrating the end of the academic year. This year marks the 30th AATU, and the event will take place on Thursday, May 8th!

The goal of the degree is to enjoy the company of old and new friends while leisurely visiting the riverside restaurants of Aurajoki and collecting achievement stamps on your degree map. At the end of the day, participants who complete the degree are rewarded—according to their demonstrated party spirit—with the world’s only river-worthy academic insignia. After this, the night continues with epic afterparties!

The appro pass and round-trip travel to Turku will cost a maximum of 35€. The price is the same even if you only use one leg of the trip. There are only 50 tickets available, so act fast! The more participants we get, the cheaper the price—so bring your friends too!

We will depart by bus during the day at 10:45 and return at 1:30 AM after the afterparty. The exact schedule will be confirmed later. The afterparty venue is Marilyn/​Vegas.
Those doubling the degree (tuplaajat) must purchase a second appro pass for themselves.

The trip follows the excursion rules and guidelines.

The nights are getting shorter and the days are getting longer, which is why it's time for the PRE JUHANNUS -cap sitsis of Tietokilta, Kemistikilta and Inkubio. In the traditional Midsummer tradition, the sitsis will be held at Smökki about a month before Midsummer, on Friday 9.5.

So put on your cap and come to Smökki to make some Midsummer spells. Coctail party starts at 18:00 and the gong is at 18:30. You should be there early, as the first guest will get a midsummer bucket.

There are 180 seats for the sitsis, of which 70 are for TiK, 70 for Inkubio and 40 for KK.

Registration opens on Thursday 17 April at 12 and closes on 1 May.

The Computer Science Guild is once again sending two teams to the legendary Jukola Relay orienteering competition! ‍Jukola is Finland’s largest adult sports event and the world’s largest relay orienteering event, with up to 20 000 participants over the course of the weekend. The teams range from elite athletes to groups of coworkers.

No prior orienteering experience is necessary to participate in the Jukola Relay. This year’s event takes place on Sat-Sun 14.-15.6. in Mikkeli – spots are limited! Registration is open. If you’re interested, read more here! ‍

On this course you will deepen your understanding in nonverbal communication and its significance. You will learn how nonverbal communication regulates, defines, and alters the interpretation of verbal messages. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own nonverbal communication skills in presentations, conversations and feedback discussions.

The free checkpoint crawl Tour de Walpuri arrives to shock, inspire and unite the whole Otaniemi community on the eve of Wappu eve!  The crawl is kicked off from Alvarin aukio at 20.00, and the checkpoints stay open until midnight. After the crawl, you can continue partying at Smökki, where Pelmu organizes the free-entry Wappu festival. ️

The winners of Tour de Walpuri are announced the next day at the Declaration of Wappu Rowdiness – the best team from both the participants and the checkpoint organizers will be awarded with amazing prizes!

Wappu is coming once again this year, and Dipoli will be filled with partygoers on Wappu Eve, April 30th. Performing live to entertain the crowd are Teflon Brothers, Heroni, and AaltoDJ. Tickets are now available on Kide App! For more information, check out the event's official Telegram channel.

Welcome to Wiinaton Wappu, a non-alcoholic wappu party, on 30.4. at 8 PM at Smökki (Jämeräntaival 4). There will be entertaining activities and wappu atmosphere without forgetting the traditional wappu foods and drinks. Live music is performed by several bands from SRO Musalinja. Come celebrate teekkariwappu in good company! At midnight, technical students will put on their caps after the singing of the teekkari hymn.

The event is free and organized by the Guild of the Cross. While the primary language of the event is Finnish, all integral content and instructions are also provided in English.

Crisis Support for Students at Aalto

- Aalto chaplains offer discussion support and are available to the Aalto community regardless of religion or worldview.
- Starting Point of Wellbeing provides guidance and advice if a student is unsure where to find help or support. No appointment is needed, and students can be referred to the service with a low threshold.
- Aalto’s student psychologists offer crisis support to student communities (such as group debriefings) and individual discussions as needed.
- YTHS (Finnish Student Health Service) also provides support for students.
